The training wall is constructed in reinforced concrete and is free standing in the 77m long and 40m wide hall. A light and sophisticated suspension cable steel construction was developed for the roof bearing structure which spans 35m without columns. Only a row of columns in front of the large glass facade and a trussed beam in the training wall area support the entire roof of the hall. The multi-storey is enclosed by a self-supporting framework construction which is abutted on the roof bearing structure.

TRAINING FOR EMERGENCIES UNDER A SPECTACULAR ROOF BEARING STRUCTURE
A new hall with an area of 5000m² is under construction on the site of the State Firefighter’s School in Würzburg where in the future firefighters can train under realistic circumstances and independent of weather conditions. Inside the 21m high hall, there is a 10m wide row of buildings planned for various uses as a „training wall“ in which a single occupancy house, an office and commercial building, and a 30m high multi-storey are integrated.
