Conversion school and residence "Gute Herberge" in Riehen
Since the summer of 2018, the more than 100-year-old building in the canton of Basel-Stadt has been extensively rebuilt and modernised. We were able to plan the seismic retrofitting and accompany the implementation on site. To strengthen the entire support structure, the roof slab acts as a diaphragm and is connected to the masonry walls.

Seismic Award 2018 for Roche Bau 1
We are thrilled about the 1st prize at the Seismic Award of the Swiss Foundation of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering for our high-rise project Roche Bau 1 in Basel. At the award ceremony last Monday, we were honoured together with the client and the architects from Herzog & de Meuron for the innovative design of one of the most earthquake-resistant buildings in Switzerland.

SIA Zürich – wh-p Ingenieure at the Pecha Kucha evening on the theme „Material World?“
On 27.9.2018 the SIA Zurich hosted a Pecha Kucha evening where aspiring and young members talked about the way they perceive, use and develop materials. At this exciting event, Giuseppe Morlino talked about how materials are handled from an engineer's point of view.

Floor slab Bau 2 completed
On 22.08.2018 the floor slab of Bau 2 was completed on schedule. Due to the partial dig-and-cast construction method, most of the exterior walls in sub-basement 2 could already be erected independently. The work on the exterior walls in sub-basement 3 is also progressing steadily. The first phase of the eastern of the two cores is also well advanced, so that the installation of the climbing formwork can begin soon.

Competition for new sports facilities in Chur
In cooperation with Porr Suisse, Degelo Architekten and Ritter Schumacher we won the 3rd prize in the competition for a new football stadium and a new ice rink.

Every two years, we are looking forward to an office trip with unknown destination. This year’s surprise trip brought us to Oslo, where we spent three great and sunny days.

Oekolampadmatte is being sanitized
A small and pretty pavilion containing a saleroom and a public toilet is currently under construction at the Oekolampadmatte in Basel. Together with Caesar Zumthor, WH-P has provided planning services for the timber structure with its innovative masonry façade. For the vertically laid bricks from Belgium a special high adhesive mortar was being developed.

Congratulations to Ritter Schumacher for winning the 2nd prize
In the design competition for the extension of the Reichshof Stadium in Lustenau, Austria our competition team could achieve the 2nd prize out of 17 works.
